Product Description This is the operator's manual for the 69 Super Haybine, manufactured by New Holland. This manual is a scan of a reprinted copy of this manual, so unfortunately the image quality is less than if this were a scan of the original. The pictures and diagrams can still be viewed easily they are just darker toned than the original.

I've tried (to no avail) suggesting to YT that a page be set up for dating and describing different makes and models of equipment. I know you guys have all the information needed, we just need to get it all together in one spot. Let's start with New Holland balers. If you look back through the history, you see someone is asking nearly every day about a different model of baler. They are asking how old, what size, good and bad points etc. I've got the same questions and would love to see the answers in one place. Can you guys please help me out? (Noteably Steve from N.H. Pa: I've seen you saying you could go on and on about NH balers, here's your chance. I'm asking you to go on and on!)

Model #65 1960-1965 14x16 bales
#66 '52-'55 14x16 wadboard feeder instead of aluminum fingers-ve wood on plunger-ve
#67 '58-'61 14x16
#68 '56-'58 14x16 wood on plunger-ve
#69 ?

Some of the above balers had wooden parts on their plungers(-ve means this is an undesirable item) However, most of these models were available as a Super: all Supers have rollers instead of wood on their plungers.
#S66
#S67 What else does Super mean?
#S68
#S69

#268 '64-'68 14x16 very good baler, but slow
#269 '64-'68 same as #268 except longer tongue with extra U-joint.+ve
#270 '61-'63 14x16
#271 '61-'63 same as #270 with longer tongue and extra U-joint+ve
#272 '64-'68 14x16 very good, but slow
#273 '72-'77 14x16 very good, but slow
#275 ?
#276 '72-'76
#278 ?
#279 ?

All balers models started after 1963 had the longer tongue with the extra U-joint(3 total)for better turning ability.

The above balers were made to run at 61-66 plunger strokes per minute which makes them 'low capacity' compared to some later balers which were made to run much faster.

A Super Sweep pick-up was optional on some of these balers. The Super Sweep has 6 bars of teeth instead of 4, and has more teeth closer together than the standard pick-up. The Super Sweep works better with less waste than the standard pick-up.

#310 '78-'82 14x16 nearly same as #273 except designed to run at 75 strokes per minute (spm) instead of 66spm like the 273. Feeder track assemblies blow apart at this speed, and some plungers will break. Should be ran 20% below recommended speed.
#311 '75-'89 14x16 followed #310 Great baler because it was designed to withstand it's recommended strokes per minute(spm)
#315 '75-'82 14x16 see #310 should be ran 20% below recommended speed
#316 see #311 followed #315 great baler
#320 Super high capacity see #310 recommended 105 spm should only be ran at 90 spm
#326 see #311 followed #320 great baler

That's all I know at this time. Please feel free to add or make corrections. Let's complete the entire list detailing any options, good and bad points. Then we will see if YT will consider the idea for other implements and/or tractors.

New Holland 69 Baler ManualMemories of an IH Super A When I was ? up to 10, I worked on my Papaw's farm in Greeneville, TN every summer. As I grew older (7), it was the thrill of my day to ride or drive on the tractor. My Papaw had a 1954 IH Super A that he bought to replace a Cub. My Papaw raised 'baccer' (tobacco) and corn with the Super A, but the fondest memory was of the sawmill. He owned a small sawmill for sawing 'baccer' sticks. The Super A was the powerplant. When I was old enough (7 or 8), I would get up early and be dressed to ... [Read Article]
